Kate Middleton’s Cartier tiara
Kate Middleton, who became Catherine Duchess of Cambridge wore a Cartier “halo” tiara to her wedding ceremony, which was lent to the bride by Queen Elizabeth,
The tiara was originally purchased by The Duke of York or King George VI for his Duchess, The Queen Mother just three weeks before he succeeded his brother as King of England. The Queen Mother then gave the piece to Queen Elizabeth for her 18th birthday.
The Princess’s parents gave her a pair of diamond earrings which were designed by Robinson Pelham to complement the tiara and represent the Middleton family’s new coat of arms with a pear-shaped diamond set and a pave-set diamond acorn in the center.
